Daunte Culpepper

Daunte Culpepper began his sixth season as a starter for the Minnesota Vikings in 2005. The 6 foot 4 inch football player, who weighs 265 pounds, is known as one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League. Daunte was born on January 28, 1997 in Ocala Florida. His birth mother was in prison and he was born there. His grandmother, Emma Culpepper, had already been a mom to 14 foster children, and she adopted Daunte. When he was growing up, the family did not have much money, but there was always plenty of love.

Daunte went to Ocala's Vanguard High School. He played basketball and baseball and lifted weights. But he really excelled in football, and became the star quarterback of his undefeated high school team. A coach at the University of Central Florida noticed Daunte's talent on the field, but found out that the star player wasn't working as hard as could in the classroom. He helped Daunte to pull up his grades. Because of that coach, after Daunte graduated in 1995 he went on to play football at the University of Central Florida. From there, he was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings. In 2003 he signed a ten year, $102 million dollar contract with them, the highest paying contract the team had ever signed with a player.

Daunte now has a relationship with his birthmother as well as his adoptive mother. He thinks they are both wonderful women and feels lucky to have them both in his life. He says that his birthmother, who was a teenager when he was born, made some mistakes when she was young, but that it is more important that she turned her life around. To help other kids who need to be adopted, Daunte works with the African American Adoption Agency in St. Paul, Minnesota. He helps to raise money and serves as their celebrity spokesperson. He isn't embarrassed to talk about his past, and he is living proof of how successful adopted kids can be.

Daunte's nicknames are Pepper and Pep. In his spare time he likes to play football video games. Use your favorite search engine or visit your libr
